Building Respect, Kindness & Community
Through Grace & CourtesyOne of the foundational pillars of Montessori philosophy is grace and courtesy- the everyday lessons that help children learn how to treat themselves, others, and their environment with kindness, respect, and responsibility. This month, with our Harvest Day celebration and Thanksgiving coming up, we’re excited to share more about how these principles are woven into the daily life of our classrooms and how they can be reinforced at home.
Why Grace and Courtesy Matter
According to an article from the American Montessori Society (AMS), children learn grace and courtesy by observing and absorbing the behaviors of the world around them. When you model waiting your turn to speak, speaking kindly, or walking gently through a space, children begin to imitate those behaviors and internalize them as part of their own self-regulation and social interaction…[Read more about how grace and courtesy are practiced at PVMS in our Pioneering Progress Blog→]

We hope you enjoyed your conferences as much as our teachers did! Thank you for taking the time to join us for one of our favorite things — sharing how much we love spending time with your children!
Progress report summaries are now available on Transparent Classroom and can be printed by the office upon request.

As the days grow shorter and schedules become busier, a small pick-me-up for our hardworking team can go a long way. If you happen to have some leftover Halloween candy, our staff candy jar could use a bit of love!
For those looking to fuel our teachers’ mornings - Nespresso Vertuo pod donations are always a welcomed treat for a staff that runs on caffeine, chocolate, and pure passion!
Thank you!

Tuesday, November 25th, we’ll celebrate one of our longest-standing PVMS traditions—Harvest Day!
Each classroom will prepare a special dish to share with the rest of our student community, then students will gather by program to share the feast and celebrate friendship, gratitude, and community.
See your classroom-specific emails for more details!
