Salt Dough Hand-prints
Ingredients
- 1 cup of flour 
- ½ cup of salt 
- ½ cup of warm water 
- Food coloring (optional) 
Directions
- Measure out the flour, salt, and warm water. 
- Mix the ingredients in a small bowl until combined. If desired, add a few drops of food coloring. 
- Knead the dough until smooth (about 7-10 minutes). 
- Sprinkle a bit of flour onto the work surface. Roll out the dough to the desired thickness. (½ inch thick). 
- Have the child place his or her hand into the center of the dough to create a hand-print. 
- Bake the hand-print in the oven at 200 degrees for 3 hours to harden. Alternatively, allow the hand-print to dry for 2-3 days at room temperature. 
- If desired, paint the hand-print.
